Papa Bear

“Papa Bear” by Hans Wegner in red fabric and dark mahogany structure.

The name of this big icon comes from the architect’s idea of the “big bear’s embrace”.

This chair is still produced today with artisan methods and great care.

The armchair went into production in 1953 and was developed right from the start for maximum comfort and great handcrafted features.

It was the first project that Wegner did for PP Mobler and marked the beginning of a long collaboration with this magnificent Danish company.

Still today it is among the most exclusive and representative pieces of the period.
