Pair of easy-chairs model GE-240 designed by Hans Wegner for Getama in 1955 – Denmark

This very popular chair was named “Cigar chair ” for the particular shape of the armrests.

The structure takes its cue from the architect’s previous design, the Sawbuck chair (1951 ) , but evolves with an organic shape but a little more linear and with the seat and back cushions movable , no longer fixed .

These chairs have a dark oiled solid oak frame enjoy a perfect patina and the cushions are upholstered in the original fabric.

It is rare to find these models in such a state of maintenance and authenticity , and also in pairs.

Measures : max width of arms – 68 cm./ max width of seat structure – 60 cm./ mx width of seat cushion 53 cm / max length of structure 80 cm.
