Diamond easy-chairs by H. Bertoia – Cod. 1477
Iron lattice chair, designed by Harry Bertoia in 1952 for Knoll.
In these years some important exponents of the design world , such as C.and R. Eames , Saarinen and Bertoia, experimented with the use of different materials, applying them to objects for everyday use, thus bringing, as in this case, an innovation in the functional use of iron.
Due to the sculptural presence and the harmony of the forms that welcome and embrace the guest, these seats are very significant for innovation .
Although they are made of seemingly rigid material, they are unexpectedly welcoming, enveloping and comfortable.
They thus demonstrate that, even with just the essential” skeleton” of an object, perfect use can be achieved ; the important thing is the balance between form and proportion.
These seats are period originals. For proper conservation restoration we had them sandblasted and powder coated .
You can still see some marks in the iron frame , proof that they are period originals .
They are in very good condition .

From the same series we also have available N 4 chairs .
