Day bed 710 by Alvar Aalto – Cod. 1401
The daybed 710 was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1933.
The day bed, in the tradition of Scandinavian design of this period, had the function of a comfortable daily support, for relaxation in the living area.
This birch structure has the typical “L” shaped leg in curved wood and a horizontal slatted frame.
The mattress has been completely redone by us, and covered with Baru wool fabric, in butter colour ( https://www.kvadrat.dk/en/products/upholstery/600731-baru?id=600731:::0200: )
The cushions on the mattress are made by Johanna Gullichsen – Finland – a family that has always been linked to Alvar and Aino Aalto.
