The CH29 chair is also known as “The Sawbuck Chair” and was designed in 1952 by Hans J. Wegner.

“The Sawbuck Chair” because of the shape of the legs similar to the simple trestles traditionally used by carpenters.

It has been out of production since 1970 but Wegner’s daughter, Marianne Wegner, suggested to resume production (with the original company Carl Hansen & Son) 20 years later. The CH29 chair became an immediate success thanks to its simple construction, which offers great comfort.
